As a Canton Resident, You Should Know:

The City has ordinances in effect related to: burning trash, tall grass/weeds, junk vehicles, parking RV’s and boats in streets and yards, building and zoning restrictions, building permits, home businesses, door-to-door solicitations and a juvenile curfew from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 12 midnight to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

SPRING CLEAN-UP IS SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 20-22, 2017.  BE SURE TO PLACE YOUR ITEMS CURBSIDE BY 8 AM ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19TH.  Free disposal of household items will be accepted from 8 am to 4 pm Thursday and Friday and 8 am to noon on Saturday at the City Transfer Station upon presentation of your current City water bill and proof of I.D. Senior citizens or those with disabilities who need assistance getting items to the curb or to the Transfer Station may call 903-567-1841 to ask for help from a vounteer from one of the civic organizations. Tires, batteries, paint, chemicals, construction trash, commercial garbage or items with Freon that have not been properly served and red-tagged cannot be accepted.  REMEMBER;  your weekly garbage service includes pick up of as many as 10 items (bags of household garbage or leaves) and limbs that are tied in bundles less than 50 lbs. and under 4 feet in length. Also, one large item may be picked up by separate truck each week.
