Andy McCuistion became City Manager for the City of Canton in July 2007. He began his local government career as an Internal Auditor and later Chief Accountant for the City of Irving, Texas. After six years in Irving, he spent ten years as a Plant Accountant and Assistant Plant Manager. In 1990, he joined the City of Palestine as Director of Finance. After two years, he was appointed City Manager for the City, a position he held for four years. After leaving Palestine, Mr. McCuistion has worked in the private sector. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and attended the Basic Economic Development Course at Texas A&M University. Mr. McCuistion served in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970.
The City Manager is a position appointed by the City Council. The City Manager directs and administers city activities and directs the operation of the City according to the directions and policies established by the Mayor and City Council.

Lonny Cluck was appointed Assistant City Manager - Operations in March of 2009. Lonny previously held the positions of Grounds Supervisor, Operations Supervisor of First Monday and Director of Operations for the City.The Assistant City Manager is a position appointed by the City Council.
The Assistant City Manager directs First Monday operations, including but not limited to, maintenance, improvements, new construction, reservations, special events and personnel managements. The Assistant City Manager directs all Public Works Operations (water, wastewater, streets, parks and utilities) including but not limited to, maintenance, improvements, new construction and personnel management and carries out policies set forth by the City Manager.

Julie Seymore was hired by the City of Canton in 1994 as the Civic Center Coordinator for the newly-constructed facility. She assumed additional responsibilities in the First Monday Department throughout the years prior to her appointment as City Secretary in 2001 and as City Secretary/Finance Officer in 2004. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston-University Park and worked with the internationally-renowned speakers' platform, The Forum Club of Houston, for ten years prior to returning to Canton.
The City-Secretary/Finance Officer plans, directs, manages and oversees the activities, operations and personnel in the Finance Department and the City Secretary's Office. Finance includes utility billing, accounts payable, purchasing, payroll, general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, internal auditing, external auditing coordination, grant coordination, and special projects. City Secretary and administrative functions include conducting elections; performing duties as custodian of the official records for the City; preparing and recording City Council meeting agendas and minutes, and City ordinances, resolutions, proclamations, policies and procedures, contracts, agreements, deeds, easements, legal notices, official communications, documents, etc.; overseeing human resources; and acting as the public information officer for the City.
