CITY-WIDE SPRING CLEANUP SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 16-20, 2012
Citizens are encouraged to take advantage of free trash pick-up during the Annual City-wide Clean Up. From Monday, April 16 to Friday, April 20, from 8 am to 4 pm, each day Canton citizens may place old furniture, appliances, limbs, or any household items that need to be disposed of on the curb for pick up at no additional charge.
ITEMS THAT CANNOT BE PICKED UP: tires, batteries, paint, chemicals, construction trash or commercial garbage.
Assistance for senior citizens or those with physical disabilities may be arranged by calling City Hall at 903-567-2826 and asking for a volunteer.
Citizens may also take loads of household trash to the City's transfer station or take organic materials to the City's compost station free of charge with a current Canton water bill.
The city-wide clean up is a coordinated effort between the City of Canton, volunteers and Keep Canton Beautiful, an initiative of the Canton Main Street Program.
